    Subject says it all, I want to be able to see only the page content for a specific page category, removing the full header, footer and widgets. I thought it would be a breeze, but I'm fairly new to thematic and it's proving to be harder than I anticipated. Does anyone know how to do this?

    For the curious, it may seem pointless, but actually there's a good reason. I'm using the Easy Fancybox plugin with the fancybox-iframe class to add an additional navigation level without creating a confusing layout.
    If I link to a page using the .fancybox-iframe class I get my nice overlay with the page, but it also shows the header, the footer and such, so I'm looking for a way to remove them for a specific category. I could use static html files, but this means that an inexperienced/unprivileged user would not be able to add content to that part of the site, which is vital for me.

    Well, it would be great if I could be able to filter on the category but *also* on the .fancybox-iframe class, so that I could hide the unnecessary content only when using the fancybox overlay...

    Thanks for any help!

    I resorted to creating a new page template, which is fine but doesn't allow me to differentiate "with fancybox" and "without fancybox"... still looking for advice.

  3. you could create a header-fancybox.php and a footer-fancybox.php and then a page template where you replace

    get_header()

    with

    get_header('fancybox')

    and in your header-fancybox.php you could strip out all the normal stuff from the header

    just a thought... ymmv.
