  1. I know there are a few different ways to make this happen, but not sure what is the best method. So suggestions are welcome.

    I am using the Thematic Power Blog child theme.

    I would like to remove posts from the homepage. I know you can set a static homepage under "Reading", but if I do this how can I style the homepage so that it is different from the other pages? Would I need to create a new page template, thus having to add to the Thematic core files (or can I create a new template under the Thematic Power Blog theme)?

    Right now, since the text is minimal, I have added it to the "Index Top" widget, but I'm not sure how to remove the posts that appear below the widget. Will a function accomplish this?

    Any ideas on what would be the best way to accomplish this?

  2. Hi Raquel,

    you can use this code in your child theme's functions.php to remove the posts:

    function remove_the_content() {
        remove_action('thematic_indexloop', 'thematic_index_loop');
    }
    add_action('init', 'remove_the_content');

    Adding a #nav-below {display:none} will remove the navigation.

    The better way: Create a template for a static front page and one for the blog page. Both can be created in your child theme's directory.

    Cheers,

    Chris
