    Hey there.

I would like to be able to modify the styling of the search results page. And to modify the length of the resulting text. And to have the submit button to be inline with the input box.

Anyone know where to modify this code? Not just the css but the html and php?

I've looked everywhere in the forums....

So, does nobody know or is this not possible with thematic?

As far as modifying the styling - you can do that with css alone.

If you do a search (in this forum) you should be able to find quite a bit of info on styling the search button & text area etc

As far as modifying the 'resulting text' - I'd guess you can work that put by filtering the thematic_search_loop.

Someone here may have an exact answer - but in the meantime, you might want to do a search on filtering content/ loops etc.

Sorry I'm not much help - but that may set you on the path ...

    Amy,

Thanks. I got the styling down, but...

I would like to be able to change the excerpt length, remove the more tag or [...], and remove the second search box when the correct results are not found.

Everything but changing the excerpt length can be done with css.

Just did a quick search and found this...

which among other things links to this...

I think the second search box you mentioned is on the 404 page - do a search and I'll bet you'll find an answer for that too.

    Good luck!

Amy, I have been staring at my own answer the whole time...

modifying the search.php will change the second search box, not the 404 page.

And I will check into using the wp excerpt tag.

Thanks so much for the help!
