  1. Working on search widget css this evening. Thinking the h3 title 'Search' was redundant, I added the following to my child theme css to eliminate it:

    li#search h3 {display:none;} That worked.

    Now I'm trying to change the color of the button in the hover state. The following css doesn't work: li#searchsubmit a:hover {color:#FF6666;} Any ideas?

    Would also love it if anyone could post the code necessary to place the word "search" inside the form field, and eliminating the button. How do you do that?

  3. Here's the CSS for styling the search form. Modify it to your liking.

    input#s{
    background:#666;
    border-bottom:1px dotted #000;
    }
    input#s:focus{
    background:#c1c1c1;
    }
    input#searchsubmit{
    background:#c3c3c3;
    color:#fff;
    }
    input#searchsubmit:hover{
    background:#666666;
    cursor:pointer;
    }

  5. Edit: I sorted out the issue I had for myself. If anyone is newbie(ish) to css like myself then the changes that ericH kindly helped out with are just simply added to style.css. I didn't get that at first :(
