    Hi,

I did a search for this on the forums but found nothing helpful. I noticed that the searchbox input area in the default thematic wp theme is much longer than the box it sits inside of. This only happens when 3 column layout is used such as 3c-r-fixed.css. with the 2 column layout it seems to be alright. I was wondering if someone could help me out on how to fix this without messing up the default files.

You can use a child theme; then you won't touch the default files. With the firebug addon for Firefox, you can find out what specifically to modify in the css.

  3. Hi,

add .aside input {width: 100%;} to your child theme's style.css.

    Cheers,

  4. Hello. I added (.aside input {width: 100%;}) to the child theme's style.css file but the field is still longer than the container. i also tried specifically making the width 25px or less.

  5. mine is too. In looking at the online example, I'm wondering if it has to do with not having extra lines below the subscribe button? I'm a newbie taking a wild guess - but that was what I noticed was different from the preview on this site.

  6. I was able to fix it! I went back and realized that I had accidentally commented out the .aside input {width: 100%;}" in my child style.css. So Inicole, cut and paste .aside input {width: 100%;} into your child style.css after the code that imports the other style sheets.

  7. OK, no idea what that did, but it worked! Thanks. (I'm still stumbling around trying to figure this stuff out.)
