   Forgive my ignorance and grammar but got a little problem here. I'm a newbie to PHP and I want to create a custom division on my Thematic powered blog where i intend to show excerpts, with a 'read more' link, of some SPECIFIC pages in my site. My question is, what is the best solution to approach this? I don't want to use any plugins.

   Specifically, what i need is an excerpt with, page title, a provision for a post thumbnail/picture, an excerpt from the actual page and the link to the actual page.

   Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

   your question isn't clear. thematic creates excerpts with thumbnails by default. what are you looking to do?
