  1. Hello again!

    I've hidden the text that says "Your email will never be published or shared" on the comments page and now I want the email address to be accessible through the comments section so posters can get in contact with eachother if they so choose. How can I display the information from the form they filled out?

  2. perhaps something like

    .entry-meta .email {
    display
    }

    Hmmm, perhaps I should download firebug and start poking around

  4. well poop..

    I think its silly for a user to fill out their email address and then never have it be displayed with their post. If anyone can figure this out I would appreciate it greatly.

  5. Hi engineeryourface,

    The reason "Your email will never be published or shared" behavior is included with Thematic by default is because some people (spammers) and yet mostly machines (spambots) do unscrupulous things (like sending copious amounts of viagra advertisements) when they get our personal/private information (e-mail addresses).

    I guess you could do what you're requesting but it's doubtful that anyone with privacy concerns would ever dare comment on your site if they knew you would share their private information in the open. Also hiding the information with CSS would be the wrong approach for this. It'd make more sense to do it server-side.

    And yes, it does seem silly... but it's even sillier that I have to spend an hour a month cleaning the spam from my longest lived email address' inboxes.

  6. Fair enough, maybe I'm going about this the wrong way. Now that I think about it a regular commenter would get tired of filling that form out every time they made a comment.

    I should probably find some way for users to become members and if they want their email address shown on a profile they can do it that way. Do you know any way to do this off the top of your head?
