    What is the best way to go about having different sidebars for specific author posts?

  2. Maybe the Query Posts Widget is what you are looking for.

    It lets you displays posts by nearly any criteria you can imagine using the query_posts() function, except you don’t need to know anything about PHP to use it. You can do all kinds of neat things:

    * Posts by tag.
    * Posts by category.
    * Posts by author.
    * Posts by time/date.
    * Posts by custom field key and/or value.
    * Choose any number.
    * Order by various terms.
    * Show pages.
    * Show the full post, excerpt, or even order them in a list.
    * And much more…

  3. Hi,

    do you want a special sidebar for the posts from a specific author or do you want to have special ones for specific posts from one or more authors?

    Is there an additional criteria like these posts are all in one category or do you want to have a box that could be checked while creating / editing a post?

    ahh... thanks ... I just realized you guys replied to my post

    I would like "a special sidebar for the posts from a specific author"

    so for example when you view the blog with lots of post it puts in a generic sidebar
    but if you click on a specific blog post ... it will display specific information about that author .. their categories, text/html, etc
