  1. Hi Guys

Thanks once again for Themetic - it really is very good.

A few questions regarding the sidebar please? Firstly, is it possible to have a home page with 3 columns, and then an about page that has say 2 columns please?

Secondly, is it possible to place code in a sidebar that will pull out the content of certain pages please? So in say Home we can have the bookings page in the far right column. And in about say we have the contact form in the sidebar.

Finally, is it possible to drop php code in the sidebar please?

    Thanks

    Rich

  2. Hey Rich,

    2 x YES :-)
    1 x it's up to you ;-)

    1. Take a look at How to use a different layout for a certain page?.

    2. Take a look at this plugin Widget Logic

    3. Dropping php code into a text-widget would require this plugin Exec-PHP. Personally (for security reasons) I prefer writing my widgets either as a stand-alone file in my child theme's widgets directory or included in my functions.php.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  3. Thanks for the reply Chris. Once again hugely helpful. One final question that doesn't relate to the sidebar, but is it possible to put a widget in that spans content and the middle sidebar please? e.g. Look something like this:

    Content Sidebar1 Sidebar2

    ***** Widget *********** Sidebar 2

    *********** Footer ****************

    Many thanks

    Rich

P.S. Can I send you a book to say thanks. I'm going to drop Ian a thanks as well. Do you know how I might do that please? Maybe buy one of his themes?

  4. Hey Rich,

don't know what to say .. Thanks a lot for your offer! ..

I need to check the thing with the widget spanning content and sidebar 1 .. could you please give me some more details?

If this design should be implemented for a static page, I would say it could be done with some tweaking. Problem would be a non static page .. Don't know if this could be done without major 'headaches'. Would need to do some research on this.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  5. Hi Chris

Don't worry - thanks. I just wondered if it was possible. I'll email you through your website for a link to amazon or something for the other bit.

    Thanks
