Strong Class= "Caps" on Acamas

(5 posts)
  1. I think it is neat on Themeshaper how the first few words of a post are all caps and styled slightly differently. Is this done using the strong class="caps" code? I tried using this on Acamas, but all it did was make the selected text strong without actually changing the text in any other way.

    What am I missing in order to make this happen on Acamas?

    Thanks in advance for the help...

  2. Hi,

    you're missing the definition of strong.caps / .caps in your style.css.

  3. Thanks, Chris.

    Using firebug I found this bit of code...

    strong.caps {
    color:#000000;
    }
    style.css (line 347)
    .caps {
    font-size:11px;
    letter-spacing:0.075em;
    text-transform:uppercase;
    }
    style.css (line 342)
    strong {
    font-weight:bold;
    }

    I wasn't quite sure what to do, so I just added it to my own style.css, even though I was sure it probably would not work. And it did not work. So, how exactly does this caps effect happen?

    Thanks again.

  4. Did a test with Acamas and the following code in my style.css:

    strong {
    font-weight:bold;
    }

    .caps {
    text-transform:uppercase;
    }

    strong.caps {
    color:#000000;
    }

    .. and it works as expected.

  5. Chris,

    Thanks, as always, for your help. I restyled it a bit from the code you posted and it worked beautifully. I just made the font size a bit smaller, like so...

    .caps {
    text-transform:uppercase;
    font-size:11px
    }

    ...and keeping everything else you posted the same.

    You've helped me a few times on the forums here and I just want to say thank you very much. It may seem like such a small thing for one with all the knowledge of css and php and so on, but for those of us that struggle with it, yours and Ian's help have been invaluable.

    Thanks again.
