    I've run into a bit of trouble with the Thematic feature site. When I try to click on the name of a post author, I get taken to "blogurl/author/" rather than "blogurl/author/theAuthor". As a result, I'm getting a "Apologies, but we were unable..."

    I poked around in the functions file and removed this bit:

    // Add a custom post header
    // A lot of this involves removing the title from where I no longer need it
    function childtheme_postheader() {
        global $post;
        if (is_page() || is_404() || is_single()) {
            // Absence makes the heart grow fonder
        } else { ?>
    		<h2 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="<?php printf(__('Permalink to %s', 'thematic'), wp_specialchars(get_the_title(), 1)) ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title() ?></a></h2>
    		<?php if ($post->post_type == 'post') { ?>
    		<div class="entry-meta">
              	<span class="author vcard"><?php _e('By ', 'thematic') ?><a class="url fn n" href="<?php get_author_link(true, $authordata->ID, $authordata->user_nicename); ?>" title="<?php __('View all posts by ', 'thematic') . the_author(); ?>"><?php the_author() ?></a></span>
    			<span class="meta-sep"> | </span>
    			<span class="entry-date"><abbr class="published" title="<?php get_the_time('Y-m-d\TH:i:sO'); ?>"><?php the_time('F jS, Y') ?></abbr></span>
    		</div><!-- .entry-meta -->
    		<?php } ?>
        <?php }
    add_filter ('thematic_postheader', 'childtheme_postheader');

    That seemed to do the trick -- I can now click on an author and get all of their posts! However, I have a new problem. Where is the author info (bio, avitar, contact info etc)? I thought that displayed by default in the author view, right above their posts. Is that something that is unplugged in the Thematic Feature Site child theme? If it is, I'm having trouble discovering where.

    Or maybe the problem is, I took too much out of the functions file?

    Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    If I use the functions file as-is (putting back in the bit I removed) and manually enter the url of the author (blogurl/authors/theAuthor) the problem still exists. So i know I didnt remove too much.

    So in summation, I'm wondering why the #author-info div does not display before the posts in author view. And how can I plug it back in?

    Thank you!

  3. Hi Andy,

    go to the Thematic Options and check 'Info on Author Page'.

    This will display the authors details above the list of posts written by this author.
