  1. Hi All,

I have developed my own variation of the Thematic Feature template - on my local system. Now that I have ftp'd it to my remote server (hostgator) none of the files are being pulled through.

Front-block-1.php is essentially the home page and it is not viewing any of the central leader div containing all the content. It is viewing the two bottom divs in #main which are the summary of the about page and the recent posts. I have been trying to play around with the permissions, but it isn't really getting anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas? And I wouldn't say I am an advanced developer so please take that into consideration!

    HELP !!!!

I don't know if it helps but the CSS file cannot be retrieved because it's forbidden. So I think it's definately a permission issue. Have you tried changing all the files chmod to 777?

  5. I have changed to 755 but it doesnt make a difference. 777 won't allow you to run php scripts in hostgator.

  6. It's not even pulling in the original thematic files, let alone the child theme.

I may have to start all over :(

  7. when i go this morning i see a database error. maybe you started over. and 777 is usually considered "too high" a level of permission. i think i've heard it presents security risks. 755 all directories and 644 for all files, but i've rarely ever had to change those.
