  1. I have used Thematic for some time and for some reason I decided today of all days to update 0.0.0.7 to 0.9.7.7.

    When I did it threw off the .css enough that the header.jpg didn't show. Ian and posts in this forum helped me figure out that you need an /images/ folder in your child theme folder. He also pointed me to the Thematic Child Theme that restores the "Classic" Thematic style at http://code.google.com/p/thematic/downloads/list

    Now I only have a couple of small issues remaining at http://persuasivecopy.com/blog/ and not being a real coding type person I can't resolve them on my own. One is moving the blue band with the custom menu north about 40px or so, and the other is to eliminate the rule line between the blog name and its tagline.

  2. The CSS is currently the issue

    #blog-description { padding: 8px 0 63px 0; }

    That 63px on the bottom is pushing the #access menu down. Changing it to 0 and it should be fine (below).

    #blog-description { padding: 8px 0 0 0; }

    Also, the blog title is caused by a border bottom, just remove that line of your css.

    #blog-title {
    border-bottom: 1px solid #242A30;
    }
