  1. Good afternoon.

    Have been using thematic to create my new wordpress website. Thanks for a great forum and plenty of resources, have learned a lot using all resources. However for this problem i haven't found a solution..

    I am looking to use headspace together with thematic. As far as I know the wp_title tag is missing in the header? Anyone else got a working headspace usign thematic, including meta titles, tags and descriptions for all pages/posts etc. Maybe it would be possible to show me what changes you have made to get it working...

    I would really appreciate if someone could assist me. Would be great to be using both headspace and thematic together.

    Kind regards,
    Marcel

  4. Hi Marcel,

    sorry for this delay .. was too late yesterday.

    Try this one in your child theme's functions.php:

    function my_doctitle() {
    	$elements = wp_title(' ', false);
    	return $elements;
    	}
    add_filter('thematic_doctitle', 'my_doctitle');

    Tested and approved.

  5. thanks for the quick answer chris. Seems like it's working. Need some more time to see if all functionalities are working now.

    using headspace to generate descriptions and titles means you have duplicate titles and descriptions. I have added following to my child's theme functions.php to remove the default descriptions generated by thematic.

    function remove_description($display) {
    $display = FALSE;
    return $display;
    }
    add_filter('thematic_show_description', 'remove_description');

  8. Hi guys,

    Having taken a brief look at integrating HeadSpace2 with Thematic this is what I have come up with:

    function child_headspace_doctitle(){
    $elements = wp_title('', false);
    return $elements;
    }
    add_filter('thematic_doctitle','child_headspace_doctitle');

    function child_meta_head_cleaning() {
    $display = FALSE;
    return $display;
    }

    // thematic master switch uncomment to remove both meta robots and meta description
    // comment out the line below and uncomment one of the following lines for a modular removal
    add_filter('thematic_seo', 'child_meta_head_cleaning');

    // uncomment to remove thematic meta descrption
    // add_filter('thematic_show_description', 'child_meta_head_cleaning');

    // uncomment to remove thematic meta robots
    // add_filter('thematic_show_robots', 'child_meta_head_cleaning');

    Hope it's helpful,
    Gene

  9. Thanks guys! This is just what I asked Santa to bring me this Christmas. I had just finished installing Headspace as instructed (http://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/#basicseo) and my titles weren't behaving. Thanks for the help!!

    Ok i've tried to use the following code but for some reason it renders before the title tag. Another have any ideas?

    function child_headspace_doctitle(){
    $elements = bloginfo('name') . wp_title(' | ', true, left);
    return $elements;
    }
    add_filter('nktframework_doctitle','child_headspace_doctitle');

    function child_meta_head_cleaning() {
    $display = FALSE;
    return $display;
    }

  11. hey there,

    I really recommend you use Yoast's plugin, it is much more complete

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/

    Works fine here with Thematic

    paste this in your functions.php you shouldnt need to do anything else. I have used this on half a dozen sites.

    function child_headspace_doctitle(){
         $elements = wp_title('', false);
         return $elements;
    }
    add_filter('thematic_doctitle','child_headspace_doctitle');

    function child_meta_head_cleaning() {
         $display = FALSE;
         return $display;
    }

    // thematic master switch uncomment to remove both meta robots and meta description
    // comment out the line below and uncomment one of the following lines for a modular removal
    add_filter('thematic_seo', 'child_meta_head_cleaning');

    // uncomment to remove thematic meta descrption
    // add_filter('thematic_show_description', 'child_meta_head_cleaning');

    // uncomment to remove thematic meta robots
    // add_filter('thematic_show_robots', 'child_meta_head_cleaning');
