  1. Ok. I have this wild idea and I'm at the scary beginning, not knowing where to go with it. Thought I'd throw it out here into the Themeshaper Forum void at the start, hoping for some direction as I stumble forward...

    My site: www.josephfrederick.com
I want to have the blog title text change to custom text when I hover over certain menu items.

If I can manage to do this, I am going to have the blog title text change to descriptive text for each of the menu items. For example, when you hover over the menu item "Blog," the "josephfrederick" will change to "My writings and daily thoughts." Also, I will need to have the ability to style the new copy in css, so that I can get rid of the extreme letter-spacing. A fade-in effect would be cool too, but not necessary.

So what path do I take here? Javascript? I'd appreciate any creative solutions. Thanks, everyone.

  4. jquery is making my head spin ... Not even sure where to begin (calling it out in functions.php?)

Might have to make some concessions in my original idea and find another way around it, using CSS perhaps.

Thanks for the responses, both of you.

i don't think this is possible w/ CSS only.

  6. Thank you, Helga. As you say, I believe it is impossible to do it CSS only, but not quite having the time at the moment to teach myself jquery, I came up with an alternative design/solution. I certainly favorited the post you suggested though, and I'll come back to it in the future.
