  1. I'm trying to customize the header.php by adding some divs and hardcoding my own drop down navigation bar.

    when adding the navigation, I don't get the drop down to work, even after I added the following code to the style sheet as instructed.

    #access{
    overflow:visible;
    }

    the drop down that I'm trying to include is the following.

    I was able to get it to work with the default theme of wordpress2 but not with the thematic theme.

    Does anybody have an idea how I can get the drop downs to work ?

    Thanks In Advance.

  3. since dropdowns work by default in thematic it must be something you have done since.

    hardcoding your own menu is discussed in the menu mega thread:

    i dont think you need to modify header.php. i would follow the above model to hard-code your menu and then make sure your script is enqueued.... or just include the script reference in the menu code that gets added to the thematic hook.

  4. It is live, but nowhere near finished (I already removed the divs that were not working, It was just like a list with links in it, right below the header)

    I was able to remove the existing navigation bar by commenting out two lines on the header.extensions.php. Maybe that was the mistake I did. I'm gonna try what helgatheviking said. Hopefully that works. If it doesn't I will give you guys another shout.

    Thank you so much for all your help

  5. ok- hold up. do not comment anything out of header-extensions.php. that is thematic core and best practice is to use a child theme and never touch the core.

    i would suggest that

    1. you get a new, clean version of thematic
    2. create a child theme. if you dont know how read here:

    3. follow my instructions from the menu thread
