I want to use the Google AdSense for Search, but I have no idea where to put the code snippets without wrecking my site. Will I be able to just replace the Search widget that is already there?
And what about the results? How do I make sure they stay displayed within the content area?

create a function containing your code and add this function as action to thematic_above_searchloop or thematic_below_searchloop .. just an idea.
Don't understand what you want to do with the search widget?!

Thematic comes with a default Search widget, doesn't it? I want to basically replace it with the Google search, so that I only have one search field instead of two.
I'm not very familiar with php, and I don't know how to create functions.
