Use Image for logo on PowerBlog

(5 posts)
  1. I'd like to use an image for my logo and tagline instead of text above the header bar. How can I do this? And how can I make sure it is still linked to the home page and shows the description in the browser page ID?

    Thanks for the Newbie help.

  2. BTW, It would be really, really nice if this theme offered the option: "Use logo image instead of blog title and description:"

Several themes I've tried (including another Thematic child theme) used this option and it's very nice. I've been searching for hours and hours today how to change this. I've pored over the css and php, I've watched tutorials on css - I even found one that addressed this, but I can't figure out where that code may go.

I know, this is my newbie problem, but it sure would be nice if that was a theme option of the PowerBlog. :-) Thanks and I hope I can eventually figure this out.

I'm on vacation right now, but I'll have a solution for you tomorrow.

  4. It's pretty much the same technique used here:

  5. Just an FYI, that I've responded in the above thread as it seems appropriate to continue there.

This morning, I went back again and looked at sariodata's solution for the child theme option - and tried it a different way today - added it to the very top of the function.php file and it works!

Except: It will only accept the logo.gif that has a white background, it won't accept my gif that has either a transparent gif or a colored gif. As I've figured out how to change my header background. (woo hoo!) this won't work as is. Any suggestions?
